before and after Pictures of Refinished Hardwood Floors
Before + Afterward: New & Refinished Hardwood Floors
Happy Monday friends!
Last week was a whirlwind and I was articulatio genus deep in a few different projects that I idea I would tell you about since, well, I really haven't had time to call back or write about anything else.
Last week my footling human being went away to overnight army camp for the starting time time always! So projection #one was getting him gear up for that and trying non to miss him too much. This was the first fourth dimension nosotros've been separated this long and information technology was peculiarly hard because I couldn't fifty-fifty talk to him (which was good for the camp side of things, not then skilful for this lonely mama)! I literally felt similar I was missing a limb all week!
Just, he did great and had a wonderful time which I knew would exist the case! Overnight camp was one of my favorite memories equally a kid and I'm grateful for his experience. {Cheers Grace Covenant Church!} And he made my eye happy when he said ane of the all-time parts of camp was getting post. I could be wrong merely I'm pretty sure his postal service loot was top notch :)
Projection #2 was having hardwood floors installed in petty human being'due south room and refinishing the downstairs floors which kept me busy and helped continue my mind off of missing him too much. My son's room was the final room in the business firm that still had the original carpeting, and let me tell you, 18 twelvemonth erstwhile carpet is NASTY with a capital N!
This project was a long time coming and because my parents are at the #OIBHappy house more than at present nosotros decided to hire out the chore. Usually my dad is the one knee deep in my DIY projects but since it was Father'southward Twenty-four hours week and all, I decided to let him off the hook :)
But what started out as new flooring turned into the entire downstairs hardwoods getting refinished at the last minute. It only didn't make since for united states of america to have someone in to lay the floors and not go ahead and refinish them all. The wood floors are also 18 years one-time. So, the new floor was laid then they sanded the old floors and put 3 coats of polyurethane down.
The floors are uncomplicated white oak boards and I like the natural colour and then no stain was needed. Nosotros hit a snag when nosotros realized that Home Depot no longer carried the white oak in shop so the flooring guy had to find information technology and bring it in. I took off Tuesday of last week to move everything out of our downstairs and they worked on the floors from Midweek to Friday.
My poor neighbors… :)
I was staying at my parents condo for most of the time then I had a lake view as my office for a couple of days. Information technology was heavenly! I picked up my lilliputian man from army camp on Friday (yay!!!) And we were able to go back into the house on Saturday. I spent virtually of Saturday and Sunday moving back in.
Then information technology'due south Sun night, I'm exhausted, but I'm finishing up this postal service so y'all tin see everything. It was a lot of piece of work moving in and out on such short notice but it was 100% worth information technology! The floors look cracking and information technology fills and so nice and clean in hither. No more baldheaded spots and scratches on the wood and no more than pet stained carpet (from our pets and multiple by tenants)!
It'south difficult to tell the departure of the floors that were refinished from the pictures so you'll just have to trust me that they look SO much better!
BEFORE:
Can y'all meet the dullness and scratches?
AFTER:
This is the new flooring and information technology's a perfect match!
Somebody claimed the room while there was still no furniture in it :)
There will be more changes to my son'south room happening shortly so make sure to check back. Hint, hint, rug volition be coming dorsum. I'll leave it at that :)
Cheers to a productive week!
